It's a bird, It's a plane, no it's a sea of Goldens!

I think I'm going to look into computer classes at the local college. I must learn to type! My Mom has been too busy to post for me. Today I finally had to insist that she tell you about me, the Superdog! Today, me, my stinky brother, my humans, and about 40 or so of my distant relatives (the furry type), and their humans walked in the Buffalo Bill Parade. It was so much fun! We walked in a 2 mile parade. I was asked to wear a begging vest. I wasn't quite sure what that was. Did it involve any treats? I'll pretty much do anything for a treat.

Turns out, my friends and I were "begging" for donations for GRRR (Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies). I wasn't sure if I was up for the job. I got a little excited as we waited for our turn in the parade. My stinky brother wasn't asked to wear a vest. They could probably tell he's still a monster dog. The parade started and my Golden heart was racing. It was a lot of responsibility for a 2 year old to try to help so many dogs that need help. I hoped I wouldn't let them down. We walked and walked past all the people watching the parade. All I had to do was be my beautiful, diva self and they shoved money in my vest. (I also let tons of kids pet me). Are you kidding, I just have to look cute? I couldn't believe my luck. I'm not sure if this is what they wanted from me or not, but hey it worked! I was working hard to earn donations, and then I notice my brother. GRRR had a cool truck that they kept water for us on, and let the "Golden oldies" and a few Golden babies ride on. My stinky brother ran right up to that truck and jumped on! He plopped himself down and took a nap! I work and he gets to rest? Something is wrong with that. I'm calling the union!

I raked in a grand total of $41 to help other GRRR dogs! It made me feel so happy that I could help. I want all Goldens to have a family that loves them. I'm sending out big Golden kisses to all the nice people that made donations and filled all our begging vests. The special GRRR dogs appreciate it!

Now it's time for my nap. I had a rewarding but tiring day. What a great life!

A New Day

Not much happened today. I decided to dress up to add some excitement to my day. I love being a Diva! The picture below is of me with my stinky, bone stealing, brother. He is such a kiss up. He actually comes to the humans everytime they call him. I'm too smart for that. I come when I want to. The last picture is from last week when we had fun in the sprinklers. That was a glorious day. I love water! I can't wait to see what fun I'll have this weekend!

A Little About Me, The Golden Diva

I finally convinced my human to start a blog for me. I have so much to say, I can hardly stand it! She'll type, I'll speak. It works better that way. Where do I begin? I am a 2 year old Golden Diva that would do anything for a tennis ball. I've lived with these humans since I was 9 weeks old. The Mom says I'm her dog. I let her think that. My family consists of 5 humans, a rat (actually a Pomeranian) and my snotty little half brother. (We have the same dad, but different moms) I was loving life, ruling as queen over my house, and Mom decides that the little humans need their own dog. (the rat is Dad's, I'm Mom's) My trouble all began last Christmas when Mom left for a few hours. I had no idea that she was going to turn my life upside down. She brought home this barky, chewy, obnoxious little thing and had the nerve to say that he's my brother. "Teach your brother to be a good dog like you, Kona. Train your brother, Kona." I don't ever recall being asked if I wanted a brother. Now it's my job to civilize the runt? A Diva's job is never done.

That was about 6 months ago. The runt is now taller than me.His name is Takoda, but I prefer, snotty, annoying brother. I still outweigh him though, but that won't last. He's only 9 months old and very clumsy. Don't get me wrong. I love the guy, well... sometimes. He's good for playing with when I'm bored. I just don't like him when he takes my tennis ball, touches my soccer ball, tries to eat my food, steals pets from the humans that belong to me, and tries to act all cute when he's really a monster. Other than that he's okay. He's starting to learn though that this is MY HOUSE and I just let him live here. I'll save the tale about the "rat" for another day. Time to get some beauty sleep.....
